This project implements an environment where music evolves in tandem with interactions of individual participants, who register and develop their musical preferences through encounters with others

Entering the environment, participants choose for themselves a musical tag: a short mix of musical parts, such as, bass, drums, synth, and strings. Then they traverse a series of digital music rooms or spaces. When they enter a room, their musical selection is algorithmically woven together with pieces chosen by any other participants present, and a new piece of music is created.

We describe a virtual, computer network-based implementation of this idea, although it could also be implemented in an actual physical space.
